Jacob Ngo, son of Jay and Katie Ngo, graduated on May 8th from
The University of Alabama with A Bachelor in Science/Biology degree.

Cobie Martino, son of Charnell Martino, will graduate with Honors, May 15th
from St. Patrick’s Catholic High School.

Sophia Jones, granddaughter of Deacon M.J. & Darlene Landry, will
graduate from The University of Southern Mississippi with plans to continue
her education with a Master’s program at Southern Mississippi.

McKenna Jones, granddaughter of Deacon M.J. & Darlene Landry, will
Graduate from the Department of Education, with plans to attend
Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College with a dance team scholarship.

Lola Simnicht, daughter of Ronnie & Dusti Simnicht, will graduate May 23rd
from D’iberville High School, with plans to attend MGCCC in the fall.

Ladies Arise weekend Saturday June 13th beginning at 8:00am through Sunday June 14th ending around 3:00 pm at the Seashore Assembly Center on the beach in Biloxi at 1410 Leggett Drive. 

Arise  is a spirit-filled weekend retreat for those seeking a deeper relationship with God while learning more about the Catholic faith. It can be especially informative for those who have recently completed or are planning to enter OCIA, non-Catholic spouses, non-Catholic teachers/parents/grandparents of children in Catholic schools and Catholics who have been away from the Church. Today we pause with gratitude and love to honor mothers-those who have nurtured, guided, prayed for, and shaped our lives with quiet strength and faithful hearts. We give thanks for mothers who are with us today, for grandmothers, stepmothers, adoptive mothers, and all women who have shared a mother’s love and care.
We also remember with tenderness those mothers who are no longer with us. Their love remains a lasting gift, woven into who we are. We hold close the memories, the lessons, and the faith they passed on.
On this day, we celebrate the beauty and sacrifice of motherhood as a reflection of God’s own love- patient, enduring, and full of grace. May we honor that love not only today, but in the way we live, give, and care for one another.

On behalf of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal of South Mississippi and St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, we are pleased to share with you an invitation to the Third Annual Diocesan-wide Pentecost Celebration and Prayer Gathering on Saturday, May 23, 2026, beginning at 10:00 a.m., to be held at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Long Beach. 

This special celebration will be led by Bishop Louis F. Kihneman III as the main celebrant and promises to be a powerful day of prayer, unity, and an outpouring of the Holy Spirit for all who attend.

• Share it through your parish communication channels

Our hope is to extend this invitation across the Diocese so that many may come together to celebrate Pentecost as one faith community.
